We have some rather exciting news.
Nu Allumé’s Rosella Radiance Prebiotic Serum has won GOLD for Best Face Serum in the 2026 Clean + Conscious Awards.
The Australian made prebiotic serum was developed specifically for the changing needs of skin through perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause as part of Nu Allumé’s microbiome smart approach to menopausal skincare.
Not Best Menopause Serum.
Not Best Mature Skin Serum.
Best Face Serum.
And for us, that distinction makes this award particularly special.
A serum created because menopausal skin is different
Rosella Radiance was never developed simply to create another serum.
It came from almost two years spent investigating what happens to skin through perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause and understanding an area of skin biology that has received remarkably little attention from the beauty industry, the skin microbiome.
Research has shown that menopause changes the facial skin microbiome.
Nu Allumé is an Australian skincare company pioneering the microbiome-menopause connection, the emerging area of research examining the relationship between menopause related biological changes and the skin microbiome.
That science became central to the development of Nu Allumé and to our belief that skincare for this stage of life needs to consider more than dryness or the visible signs of ageing.
The skin barrier does not work in isolation. It exists alongside a living ecosystem of microorganisms, the skin microbiome, which plays an important role in skin function.
When menopause changes that ecosystem too, it raises an important question about how skincare for menopausal skin should be formulated.
Rosella Radiance was created as part of our answer.
What is Rosella Radiance Prebiotic Serum?
Rosella Radiance Prebiotic Serum is an Australian made prebiotic facial serum developed specifically for skin through perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause.
Its lightweight formulation combines Australian rosella with fermented aloe, vitamin C, resveratrol, CoQ10, hyaluronic acid, konjac and copper tripeptide to help support skin resilience, firmness, hydration and even tone while helping calm the appearance of redness.
Rather than approaching menopausal skin purely through the traditional lens of anti ageing, Rosella Radiance forms part of a skincare system designed around an understanding of the biological changes taking place during menopause.
But winning Gold wasn’t based on the ingredient list alone.
What the Clean + Conscious Awards judges thought
Products entered into the Clean + Conscious Awards are independently assessed by an expert panel and Rosella Radiance received some extraordinary feedback.
Judge Emily Ghougassian praised how lightweight and elegant the serum felt, noting that it absorbed beautifully, felt hydrating and soothing and layered well with both skincare and makeup.
Neha Hobson highlighted its silky gel texture and described the combination of fermented aloe, copper peptides and antioxidants as a sophisticated formula that left skin feeling comfortable, refreshed and hydrated.
Alena Turley noted its quick absorption, visible calming of redness and noticeable hydration, particularly for skin experiencing the sensitivity and dryness that can accompany perimenopause.
For us, however, there was another part of the judges’ feedback that meant just as much.
They understood why Nu Allumé exists.
More than the product inside the bottle
The Clean + Conscious Awards don’t assess products purely on how they perform. They also consider the decisions and values behind them.
The judges recognised Nu Allumé’s Australian manufacturing, ingredient transparency, cruelty free formulations, responsible packaging and our use of fermentation and biotechnology derived ingredients.
They also recognised something at the heart of the brand, our commitment to women navigating perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause.
For decades, much of the beauty conversation around women at this stage of life has centred on trying to make them look younger.
We believe they deserve something different.
They deserve skincare developed with an understanding of what is actually changing in their skin and clear, science led information that helps them understand those changes.
One judge described menopause as an area that remains underrepresented within the beauty industry. Another recognised Nu Allumé’s focus on perimenopause and menopause as filling a real gap in both skincare and public conversation.
That recognition matters enormously to us.
Why winning Best Face Serum matters
There are countless facial serums available to Australian women.
Rosella Radiance was developed specifically with menopausal skin in mind, but it wasn’t judged in isolation because of that.
It was judged as a face serum.
And it won Gold.
For a young Australian skincare company challenging some long established ideas about how we formulate for menopausal skin, that’s an extraordinary vote of confidence.
It demonstrates that developing skincare around the biology of menopause doesn’t mean compromising on elegance, experience or performance.
Quite the opposite.
From an idea to a Gold winning face serum
Nu Allumé began with a simple question.
If menopause changes so much about a woman’s biology, what is actually happening to her skin?
That question eventually led us to the emerging science of the skin microbiome, almost two years of development with Australian microbiome scientists and the creation of a skincare range designed specifically for the stages of menopause.
Today, one of the products that came from that journey is the Clean + Conscious Awards 2026 Gold Winner for Best Face Serum.
We’re incredibly proud of Rosella Radiance.
But we’re even more excited about what this recognition represents.
Menopausal skin is finally getting the attention it deserves.
And we’re only getting started.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best serum for menopausal skin?
Menopausal skin can experience changes including dryness, sensitivity, visible redness and changes in firmness and elasticity, so there is no single serum that will suit every woman.
Rosella Radiance Prebiotic Serum was developed specifically for skin through perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause. It combines prebiotic and postbiotic ingredients with antioxidants, humectants and peptides and was awarded Gold for Best Face Serum in the 2026 Clean + Conscious Awards.
What does a prebiotic serum do for menopausal skin?
Prebiotics provide compounds that can be utilised by microorganisms living on the skin. In skincare, prebiotic ingredients can form part of a microbiome smart formulation designed to support the environment in which the skin microbiome exists.
Rosella Radiance combines this approach with ingredients selected to support hydration, firmness, elasticity and skin comfort during the stages of menopause.
Why does the skin microbiome matter during menopause?
The skin microbiome is the community of microorganisms that lives on the skin and plays an important role in normal skin function, including interactions with the skin barrier.
Research has identified differences in the facial skin microbiome associated with menopausal status, including changes in microbial diversity and the relative abundance of particular microorganisms.
This emerging understanding of the microbiome-menopause connection is one of the scientific principles behind the development of Nu Allumé.
